To me, this is not just a job. Being a prosecutor is an honor and a privilege. Serving the people of Kanawha County as a prosecutor is my calling.
After I am elected, I want to make our County safer, protect victims, and to hold violent and repeat offenders accountable. In my experience, the best way to protect society from these offenders is to remove them from it. I believe that serious crimes deserve serious time. I do not believe that criminals should be given third and fourth chances.
I will stop the revolving door, stop repeat offenders from being released on low bonds and push for bond revocations on those who commit crime while on bond.
I have dedicated my career to prosecuting the most violent criminals in Kanawha County. I want the victims of crime to walk away from the wrong that has been forced upon them believing that justice was served. I strive to accomplish this with every case that I prosecute and, if elected, I will ensure that this is the goal of every prosecutor at the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office.
For the past seven years I have worked closely with members of each law enforcement agency in our County. I see first hand the hard work that these officers do. Our officers selflessly put their lives on the line everyday to protect the citizens of this County. They should be supported, appreciated, and respected. As a prosecutor it is my job to work side by side with law enforcement officers to ensure that criminals are brought to justice.
As a member of the NRA and the West Virginia State Rifle and Pistol Association, I am an avid supporter of the Second Amendment. It is my belief that citizens should have the right to keep and bear arms. I believe that citizens have a right to own firearms to hunt, for recreation, and to protect themselves and their families. I am one of three assistant prosecutors in Kanawha County who has met the qualifications and is certified as a Law Enforcement Officer as defined in 18 USC 926B. Under this certification I am authorized by law to carry a firearm, and to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of, or the incarceration of any person for, any violation of law, and have statutory powers of arrest or apprehension.
